They all had a great time. Anna and Claudia had refresher scuba diving sessions with Dave while Roger looked after Emma.

With the sun shining we had to complete some deeper dives so at Wraysbury we had 2 students for the PADI Advanced course and Mandy completing her Enriched Air specialty course.

On the Sunday we headed upto Stoney Cove for the Deep and Multi level dives. Sue and Brent did really well while James had no problem with his Deep Adventure dive.

Sue, Brent and Daron also tried Enriched Air diving for the first time and obtained their specialty certifications.

Andy led a couple of dives and everybody had a great time. The weather was fantastic and it was a real pleasure to dive in Stoney Cove again.

13 July

A quiet night at the pool with only a few people scuba diving. Sue tried a drysuit which was a little too large while Shaun practised his skills for his upcoming instructor course. Divemaster trainee Simon swam around.

9 - 10 July

Caroline, Rachael, and Danie completed the 4 Open water qualifying dives with the help of Nathan, Stan, Trevor and Jonty.

Sari completed the Enriched Air specialty course with Roger.

On the Sunday Casper, Caroline, Rob, Jason and Mandy finished the 4 scenarios for the PADI Rescue Diver course. Everybody had a great time in the sunshine and earned their certification. Thanks go to Peter, David and John for their help on the day and acting skills!!!!

6 July

Club night :

Casper, Caroline, Mandy and Jason practised their Rescue skills before their dives on the Saturday while Jonty and Trevor completed a few of their Divemaster swim tests.

Caroline and Danie practised in the pool in preperation for the Open water qualifying dives at the weekend.

2 - 3 July

This weekend we had 16 students completing the PADI Open Water Referral course.

Roger taught Chantal and her gang of 10 friends the theory for the Open Water course and then we split the class into 2 for the pool skills with Adam, James and Jane helping with the teaching. The class was fantastic and as they were all friends there was a lot of hulour throughout the course.

Nathan taught the other class of six students with the help of Shaun and Andy.
It was a very successful weekend with all the students enjoying themselves and looking forward to completing their course on holiday.

29 June

There was a lot of interest in practising in the pool this Wednesday evening.
Rachael and Jane practised their skills while Sarra completed a Scuba Tune Up with James Abbott our newest instructor.

Casper, Caroline, Rob and Dale practised their Rescue skills while Howard and Arne tried using a DSMB.

Scuba Diving update

Latest News - Dive Kingston/ Dive Wimbledon

25 -26 June

Wraysbury : Chris, Nicholas, Sami and Luke headed off to Wraysbury to complete the 4 scuba dives to complete their PADI Open Water course. Jess was the instructor assisted by Andy and Jonty on the Saturday as well as Wendy on the Sunday.

Congratulations to 4 new PADI Open Water divers!!!!!!!!!

22 June

Casper, Dale, Caroline and Rob continued the Rescue course and practised search patterns and Unconscious diver on the surface while Paul and his friends continued with the Open Water course.
Sami practised in preperation for his PADI Open water course qualifying dives at the weekend. Whales returned to teach Sharon a Scuba Tune Up course.

18 - 19 June

Nathan Lowe taught Alistair, Carl, Ben, Caroline, Nicholas, Rachael and Danie the Open Water Referral course. They raced through their theory with some of the most consistently high scores we have seen and continued to breeze through their pool skills. Roger and Jane assisted.
Ramona and Elizabeth snorkelled and played in the shallows while Arne practised yet again.
On the Sunday Paul taught a couple of his friends the first of the skills for the PADI Open Water course.
Georgie and Anton tried the bubblemaker course with Bob while their parents practised and played in the diving pit.

15 June

Wednesday pool nights are becoming more popular all the time.
The long nights make it seem much earlier when we get to the pool.
Greg and Trish completed a refresher course with Whales while Pauline, Mike, Howard and Jane practised in the diving pit. Divemaster in training Jonty decided to try the equipment exchange skill from the Divemaster course and completed it without a hitch. Well done Jonty!!!!

11 - 12 June

Club and school were all diving this weekend.
On Saturday Wendy, Peter and Trevor completed the new Rescue Diver course at Wraysbury. Things started off slowly but as the day went on their cinfidence grew and grew. Malcolm (I'm having a heart attack) Rusby and Shaun assisted throughout the day and there acting skills were of a BAFTA award winning quality.
Paul took Rob for the Navigation, Search and Recovery and Peak Performance Buoyancy dives for his Advanced course.
An early start and I mean early. At 3.30am I picked Shaun up for the drive up to Stoney Cove. We made good time on the quiet roads and were there and in the queue for the bottom car park before 5.30. At7am the staff let us into the bottom carpark and the wait began for the others to arrive.
Rob was completing his Advanced course while Peter, Howard and David dived with Enriched Air for the first time. Also diving were Ross, Mandy, Wendy, Phillipa, Paul, Liz and Arne.
Rob, Peter, Howard, David and Ross came with me for the first dive down to 30 metres. The visibility was still quite good and there were a lot of fish to see. The new Armoured vehicle is a welcome additon to the site and is atracting the fish already.
Shaun, Wendy, Mandy, Phillipa and Arne also dived as a group starting off with a look at the Stanegarth.
After a bacon sandwich it was time to dive again. We explored the Stanegarth while Shaun visited the Wessex helicopter with Arne.
A good days diving with a wind down in the pub before the drive back.
Arne (I know north London!) made the trip back more of an adventure but I have to admit he did know what he was talking about.

Scuba Diving at Wraysbury

This Saturday Peter, Wendy and Trevor completed their PADI Rescue scuba diving course at Wraysbury near London.

The course has recently changed and this is the first time we have offered the revised course. It is definately better than the last course which was also one of the best PADi offers.

Earlier in the year they all learnt the 10 required exercises in Putney pool and they had a refresher session last Wednesday evening.

There were 4 scenarios to complete including Distressed Diver, Paniced Diver, Unconscious Diver on the surface and searching for a Missing Diver. The skills were completed very well with many fake heart attacks suffered by Malc the Victim Rusby while Shaun Gallop helped out as the onsite Divemaster.

At the end of the day we had three tired and very pleased new PADI Rescue Divers. You would have thought they would have had enough by then but Wendy and Peter joined us for a days diving at Stoney Cove on the Sunday where Peter completed his Enriched Air course along with David and Howard. A busy weekend but the diving was great.

London Scuba Diving

20 April - Dive Wimbledon's latest club night.

A very relaxing night at the pool. Louis completed most of the remaining skills from his Referral course with Roger while Ian, Petrea and Arne practised. Petrea completed her course with us at the weekend and took advantage of the cheap practise sessions we offer to our students. By the end of the night she was looking very comfortable under the water and I am sure whe will get complimented by the Instructor on Tioman Island in Malaysia when she completes her qualifying dives. We pride ourselves on the quality of our teaching and are thrilled when students come back to practise and fine tune their scuba diving skills.

Have a great holiday Petrea and Ian!!

Putney Scuba Diving - London

Another London cold spell before the summer comes. It could be depressing but with the longer nights people are starting to think about the summer and all the sports they would like to get into.

This week has been very busy with lots of new people signing up for scuba diving courses and even more interest in our next holiday to Dahab. Casper, a London based South African, bought all his equipment scuba diving second hand from Dive Wimbledon. While he was here he decided to complete his Advanced course and Rescue course and talked about the Divemaster. If that wasn't enough he got excited about our holiday and signed up for that as well... Not a typical customer but after seeing how we do things he realised that we offer a very customer orientated dive service that can be hard to find. We headed down to Dorset as well but didn't go diving as we heard the vis wasn't quite upto scratch.
I have chatted to a couple of people and it seems the vis was about a metre most of the way along the south coast. Not brilliant but with the sun shining things will only get better.

London Scuba Diving

London scuba diving can be fun but at this time of year it's much nicer to go on holiday and dive somewhere warm with lots of life.

Have you ever been to Dahab in the Egyptian Red Sea? It's a great place to dive and all the dives are shore dives. There's nothing I like better that being driven to the dive site, set up your kit on the beach and then just stroll down into the water to put your fins on.

We have 12 people coming on our next holiday in May. 4 students will be completing their Open Water qualifying dives and then 5 are planning on taking the Advanced course. It should be a lot of fun and with 2 PADI instructors on site and one certified dive master everybody can be sure they are going to be well looked after.

Camel dives are planned as well as a trip to the Thislegorm.

For more information about this holiday please go to our main website at http://www.divewimbledon.com and look under holidays.

Scuba Diving in Kingston, Wimbledon and Putney

Experience the amazing underwater world of scuba diving with Dive Balham, Dive Wimbledon and Dive Kingston in South West London

Dive Balham, Dive Wimbledon, Dive Putney and Dive Kingston are professional dive schools offering PADI scuba diving training courses from entrance level to Divemaster in South West London.

For non-divers looking to experience scuba diving for the first time we offer a variety of courses.
The Discover Scuba Diving Course
